Ghirahim Confirmed for Super Smash Bros. as Assist Trophy on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

In today's Miiverse update for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U., producer Masahiro Sakurai confirmed the appearance of Ghirahim.

Those wanting to play as the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword villain may be slightly disappointed as the snake-like, sword wielding Demon Lord has been relegated to Assist Trophy. However, he "conceivably back up Link, too," Sakurai mused. He'll presumably bring a slice of nippy sword action and lounge waggling to the Nintendo all-star brawler this fall. Tasty.

Shame, really. Thought he could have been a good mix of Link (more so Marth) and Sheik. Perhaps too many sword wielders for Sakurai's liking, I suppose.

I would normally prefer Ghira to be an Assist Trophy, but after seeing the leak I'm starting to wish he was playable >_>
