More details for Mighty No. 9: The Animated Series have surfaced, including the storyline and characters.
Speaking to Polygon, Digital Frontier's Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour noted how the upcoming show won't follow the game's storyline directly, and have interpretation that'll make it more suitable for TV. This also includes some of the character traits to go beyond the universe outlined in the upcoming game, with a bigger focus on sub-characters like Beck's assistant Call.
The main goal of the Mighty No. 9 series is to highlight how protagonist Beck develops, from his initial reluctance to becoming a fully fledged Mighty warrior.
Digital Frontier are hoping for viewers to gain a deeper connection to the characters, with comedy abound for both children and adults.
