Mario has helped Mercedes-Benz sell a wad of new cars, according to a report from the leading car manufacturer.

Earlier this year Nintendo and Mercedes-Benz teamed up as part of a cross-platform campaign, with Mario seen to drive a Merc' in a YouTube/TV advert and also as upcoming DLC in Mario Kart 8. Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that there has a been an increase in visitors to its showrooms and demand for the Mario-driven car is also higher than anticipated.

The Mercedes-Benz Mario Kart 8 DLC is also on-track for a release outside Japan.

For those who missed it, the Mercedes-Benz Mario campaign video in all its muscular glory:

Sweet, let's hope Lamborghini makes a similar deal with Nintendo & we can get some Lambos as DLC for MK8 as well.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

Really? This seems....unlikely..somehow.

Yea that is cool. I could do a Ferrarri Testarosa or  a Porche.  They even could go old school with a muscle car like a Mustang, Firebird or a Camero. The possibliities are endless !
