Nintendo have officially announced support for GameCube controllers in the new Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
In a Tweet and during a promotional video for the Super Smash Bros. Invitational tournament, the new peripheral was revealed. Supporting four controllers, the adapter hooks up to the USB slots on the front of the Wii U.
More details on the GameCube adapter is expected at this year's E3 Expo, as those who compete in the tournament will be allowed to use GameCube controllers if they wish.
