YES MATE! Probably my favourite region in the series and I can finally play through it with lots of other Pokémon and the physical/special split. I still love the original so much that I probably won't ditch it for the remakes in my annual replays, though. Gen I and Gen II, on the other hand...

MEGA DELCATTY PLZ!!?? LOL TRUMPETZ

Ok, to put it simply, the most awaited Pokemon game since Black and White came out on Gen 5, and my favourite Pokemon title ever all on the 3DS... Nothing else needed other that game of 2014 for me.

This was obviously the next step but it still fills me with joy to see that it's actually happening. Smilie

I want them to reimagine Hoenn however they like so long as they don't ditch Hoenn's fantastic soundtrack. Smilie

EDIT: Has it been confirmed as Hoenn? "Explore a dramatic new world" in the trailer doesn't really confirm that, plus that hiker in X and Y says we'll be visiting a new region soon that isn't a previous region. I hope it is Hoenn reimagined in X and Y's engine. Smilie

My favourite Pokémon games! Smilie

AAAAAHHHHHH!!! I'm not sure if I Love this or Hate this!!!!

I loved the original and ive been actually playing it for the last few days... But I usually hate remakes.. coz it sort of takes away from the amazing memories I first had playing through Hoenn!!
Anyway I think it would of been better to remake Emerald.. No?!?!

Also the Legends look slightly different...or is it just me!!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

HeartGold and SoulSilver implemented features from Crystal, so it's a safe bet that they kinda are remakes of Emerald, or at least they'll include the considerable things Emerald had.

As for the legies, I'm assuming that's their Mega Evolutions Smilie

Yes, I agree, the strange, glowing markings were never present on the original legendries, therefore referring to new forms, or mega evolutions which are most likely due to MewTwo and many other Pokemon receiving these evolutions. As for the names Alpha and Omega, they are a reference to the Hindu(?) belief that two monsters of ground and sea would clash when the end of the world (omega) was nigh, causing a new world to be born (alpha). Either Way I find it intriguing to see what others think and hope that these games bring about many enjoyable gaming hours in November.

I'm going to get a massive roasting for asking...

But why is there so much love for Rubs and Sapphire?

I loved the originals, G&S but never quite got into this particular generation? Picked it up again from D/P.

Gen 3 was awesome, the only way to make it better is to add more trumpets and water.

There's considerable love for every single generation. You gotta realise that, while we may not have noticed much love a decade ago, kids were brought up with RS being their first gen of Pokémon games just like a lot of us had RB as our first games.

For a while, Gen3 got the least attention out of all gens, and as the fans of it got older there became a lot more demand for it. If you know where to look, there isn't a single Pokémon gen that's unpopular, and they all have their own reasons and their own kids who had them as their firsts to thank for that.
