Rumour: New 2D Prince of Persia in Development on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Rumour: Unconfirmed sources have suggested that a brand new 2D Prince of Persia adventure is in development.

There's nothing quite like the classics, and the age-old hero may return to his platforming roots if rumours are to be believed.

Swordplay, wall jumping and tricky platforming are said to sift back into the spotlight, and the new title would utilise the UbiArt framework (Rayman Legends, Child of Light), using similar animation techniques to the limbless hero's adventure.

Maybe even an endless runner like the Rayman games on mobile. Smilie

I think we're due a new 3D PoP game. I really liked the cel shaded game and would like a follow up to that since the story never got resolved. It was much better than Forgotten Sands.

The only good 3D game for me was the Sands of Time, anything that happened after it wasn't worth my time Smilie

I'm in the minority but I preferred Warrior Within. Smilie
