Swords and Soldiers HD Announced for Wii U on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Swords and Soldiers HD has been announced for Wii U this week, as an upgraded version for Nintendo's console.

Previously developed by Ronimo Games and available on the Wii, PC and mobile platforms, the Wii U version is being crafted by the folks who made Toki Tori, Two Tribes.

The upgraded version will feature 720p output, running at 60fps, according to the studio, and also includes both touch and Wii Remote controls.

The main advantage of the Wii U release, however, is support for different-screen multiplayer - where one has their screen on the TV, and the other having a different view on the GamePad controller. There won't be online multiplayer, though, nor support for the Wii U Pro Controller.

Super Saucy Sausage Fest DLC won't be available, but DLC could be an option depending on how well the game performs.

The game is due towards the end of next month or early May.
