During GDC this week Comcept CEO Keiji Inafune discussed the current trends in the Japanese landscape.
Inafune described the need for Japanese developers to step up within the current climate to try and restore the country's strengths for developing video games. The group panel also delved into how the Mighty No. 9 campaign came to be, the impact of Kickstarter and also strong feedback from fans in Japan.
Inafune also described how developing Mighty No. 9 differed from the traditional, closed approach, where fans are now directly involved within a community to help shape the design and look of the project.
During the talk a short beta trailer was shown, introducing each of the main foes that players will face throughout the game, plus a snippet of early in-game footage.
What are your thoughts on the look and design of Mighty No. 9 so far?
