Art of Balance Heading to Wii U eShop on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Great news today hit the Cubed3 office this afternoon - German developer Shin'en Multimedia has revealed that its fantastic puzzle series, Art of Balance, is coming to Wii U eShop in the 2nd Quarter of 2014. Following on from the highly rated WiiWare and Nintendo 3DS versions, the game is set to get a complete overhaul for this impending Wii U edition.

New to the game is online play, using a splitscreen setup, as well as local multiplayer for up to five friends, using the GamePad and four Wii Remotes, playing in teams or every person for themselves. Interestingly enough, teams even work when playing online, so up to ten people can actually play on two Wii U consoles in an online match!

There will also be online leader-boards, lush HD visuals with all new graphics, new designs, and new beautiful locations - with the team hoping it will be the most beautiful game on Wii U. Just check out some of the shots released so far:

Additionally, Shin'en plans to add physics that are more accurate than ever before, with the game running at 240 fps, as opposed to the 3DS eShop iteration that was often only 30 fps. Play on the TV or GamePad, with the game mirrored on both screens, use touch or analogue controls or even a Wii Remote throughout.

Expect more details in the near future...

Great idea! A year ago I was already hoping they'd make HD updates of good WiiWare games. If the price is right (<€10) I'll get it. Smilie

... 240fps?! Dude.

That's to get better physics, it doesn't actually output that. I don't even know if the Wii U can do more than 60fps.

Yeah that's what I figured. Still.
