Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Mario Lead Nintendo Profits in Latest Sales Figures on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The latest Nintendo hardware and software figures were posted in today's financial update, including  Mario and Zelda.

The latest hardware figures, as of December 31st 2013, reveal a continually strong uptake for the Nintendo 3DS, despite being off target, however Wii U still trails behind expected sales figures.

Nintendo Wii U

  • Hardware: 5.86 million units
  • Software: 9.37 units

Nintendo 3DS

  • Hardware: 42.74 million units
  • Software: 152.29 units

Nintendo Wii

  • Hardware: 100.90 million units
  • Software: 892.34 units

Nintendo DS

  • Hardware: 153.98 million units
  • Software: 942.32 units
As for key software sales, Nintendo posted exceptional figures for Pokémon, Animal Crossing and Tomodachi Collection, with solid debut performances for the company's HD offerings on Wii U.
  • Pokémon X and Pokémon Y: 11.61 million units
  • Animal Crossing: New Leaf: 3.52 million units
  • Tomodachi Collection: New Life sales: 1.82 million units
  • Mario & Luigi: Dream Team sales: 2 million units
  • Zelda: A Link Between Worlds sales: 2.18 million units
  • Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Wii Party U and Super Mario 3D World - over 1 million each.
