Estimated NPD Figures Show Wii U Improvement on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The release of the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD has sparked an improvement in Wii U sales in North America.

It may well be all about Grand Theft Auto V at the moment in the software charts, but the HD remake of the GameCube classic has helped shift more Wii U consoles in the country. According to the latest NPD estimates, sales for the Wii U are expected to tally up to around 55,000 units, up 79 percent month-over-month, but still many miles away from the Xbox 360 and PS3 estimates, which sit at around 140,000 and 175,000 units respectively.

With further key Wii U titles expected in the coming months, Nintendo are hoping to bank on the big names to help further the Wii U campaign over the crucial holiday season.

I don't think anyone should be surprised. The one thing that the Wii U has needed is games (just like the 3DS before it). This one title has already boosted sales and once they start coming out at a regular pace starting next month, sales are going to increase a lot.

Yea but evidentially not enough...I mean the 360 outsold it by 3 times the amount! Thats incredible!
