Pokémon X and Y Performs High in the UK Charts on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y have stepped up to the plate to take on Grand Theft Auto V and FIFA 14 in the latest UK chart update.

The Top 40 charts, across all formats, confirms an exceptionally strong start for both Pokémon titles, which sit comfortably in third and forth positions. Grand Theft Auto V, arguably the biggest release this year, remains firmly in the top spot, followed by EA's annual footy rehash, FIFA 14.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is still holding on in tenth position.

The top ten for the week are as follows:

  • 1. GRAND THEFT AUTO V - TAKE 2
  • 2. FIFA 14 - ELECTRONIC ARTS
  • 3. POKEMON X - NINTENDO    
  • 4. POKEMON Y - NINTENDO
  • 5. BEYOND TWO SOULS - SONY COMPUTER ENT.
  • 6. F1 2013 - CODEMASTERS
  • 7. JUST DANCE 2014 - UBISOFT
  • 8. MINECRAFT: XBOX 360 EDITION - MICROSOFT
  • 9. DISNEY INFINITY - DISNEY INTERACTIVE STUDIOS
  • 10. THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: THE WIND WAKER - NINTENDO

On the individual console charts, The Wind Waker HD was crowned the number one bestselling title on the Wii U charts this week, joined by Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros. U. As for the Nintendo 3DS chart, it was an all-Nintendo affair for the top five games - Pokémon X and Pokémon Y in the top two positions, followed by Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Mario Kart 7.

I wonder if the combined sales would bring them up to second or first. Also great to see Windwaker in there!
