Customise and Remove Character Borders in Super Smash Bros. 3DS on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed that players will be able to tweak the outline settings in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.

Those who aren't a fan of the cell-shaded dark outlines that engulf characters in the portable Nintendo 3DS version will be able to tweak how they appear. The designer confirmed, via Miiverse, this week that "their outlines can be made thinner or made to disappear completely."

The borders are designed to make the action slightly clearer when playing on the relatively smaller Nintendo 3DS screen, but have been met with a mixed reception from fans.

Will you play with or without borders in Super Smash Bros. 3DS?

Pretty good stuff as I remember many complaining about the borders. Which is a shame cause I love them Smilie but then again maybe I'm just a sucker for cartoony visuals!

I love the outlines, but it is a nice touch to be able to customise them to your liking and even disable them completely. Thanks Sakurai! Smilie

Lol, people will complain you can't disable it for certain characters I'm sure!

Nice to have, but I have a feeling the outlines will be indispensable once the action starts, even for those saying they don't care for them. I actually struggled from time to time with Brawl characters blending in with the background. Glad to see this has been given some thought.
