Selected Pokémon to Mega Evolve in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The latest batch of Pokémon games, Pokémon X and Y, are set to introduce a new sort of battle transformation called Mega Evolution.

Fans finally have answers for Mewtwo's unique transformation - it's an ability that allows certain critters to perform a Mega Evolution during battle - including Mega Mewtwo, Mega Lucario, and Mega Blaziken.

These change the Pokémon's appearance, increases stats and may even adapt the Pokémon's abilities/type. In order to do so, trainers will need a Mega Stone, and after the battle concludes, the Pokémon would return to their regular look.

Mega Stones will be hidden in the game, however those who wish to upgrade Blaziken will have to get its stone through a Wi-Fi event during the game's launch period.

Why does it say this post has -5 comments? Also, there's 671,088 pages of comments, apparently.

Anyways, back on topic.. this whole Mega Evolution thing seems like an interesting concept, but I'm still  not sure if I should jump back in on the franchise just yet. Especially when I don't have much money right now.. plus there's a ton of other awesome games coming out.

Wtf is up with the comments.

Anyway this is a huge game-changer, if people were mad that Pokémon has been too samey up to this point, this along with a bunch of other features XY are introducing should help rekindle that interest. It's insane how much new stuff they're introducing and changing here.

Also just think, after only one real kind of evolution for over 15 years, a whole new kind appears and it affects old and new Pokémon alike giving some Pokémon 4 stages of evolution for the first time ever. It's gonna be giving new focus to old favourites alike too, one thing I love about Pokémon is how they try to treat all of them with the same importance, like once you get past when they were introduced, they're all really in the same "gen", and this reaffirms this even more.

This is pretty much gonna change the way people plan their battles in late-game, it'll give people new favourites and it'll play on the nostalgia of all those old rumours about a super secret evolution of Mewtwo or Charizard. I just love that.

Also holy shit you can ride Pokémon in the field and jump up little ledges with them.

I haven't been this hyped for Pokémon in a long time, especially since Gen5 was so disappointing to me.
