Monster Hunter Frontier G Confirmed for Nintendo Wii U - Debut Trailer Revealed on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Capcom have confirmed this week that Monster Hunter Frontier G is heading to Nintendo Wii U this December.

The hugely popular MMORPG, Monster Hunter Frontier G was originally released for PC in 2007 and with an Xbox 360 version more recently. The new Wii U and PS3 versions of the game will run on their own servers, including a "G3" update that's due to launch on the service later this year.

The team are also considering adding "something fun" that could be done with the Wii U GamePad or perhaps connecting to the 3DS - but aren't making any guarantees.

At its core, Frontier G is an upgraded version of Monster Hunter 2 with internet capabilities; a core online-only experience "packed with so much content that you'll never be able to digest it all", says director Tatsumi Kimoto.

The service will begin on December 11th on Wii U, with a free beta period a week ahead of the launch.

Capcom also released the first snippet of the upcoming game in action.

That looks so awesome! I would definitely get this if it was released in the west. Do you have to pay a subscription, or is it a single purchase?

Working like a fiend isn't very fun... and surprisingly isn't very fiendish either.

So that's 3 monster hunter games for wii u then? Kinda awesome tbh and I'm glad capcom are supporting the wii u a lot Smilie

I think all the MH games are subscription-based in Japan.

Good news for the Wii U! I can't wait for MH4U to be announced tbh... If that gets a PROPER graphical upgrade from the 3DS version, there's a big chance I'm getting it. I had MH3 for Wii and loved it... but I'm not paying again for some HD textures.

I'm not excited for this. Frontier is widely regarded to be vastly inferior to the main series with outrageous, senseless grind (Style Ranks among other things) and a distinct lack of real challenge. Monster Hunter 4, please.

Yeah unless this is $20-$35 I'd rather have the 8 player MMO Monster Hunter that's currently for PC on Korea.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

That's even worse.
