Phoenix Wright and Nintendo 3DS Dominate Japanese Charts

The latest Media Create figures highlight a strong opening weekend for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies.

The latest in the Ace Attorney series blitzed the charts since launching on 25th July, selling 250,216 units. Also in the top 10 on the Nintendo side was Mario & Luigi: Dream Team selling 43,721 units, Friend Collection: New Leaf with 22,831 sales and Youkai Watch tallying in at 18,543.

Elsewhere, two newcomers have had a decent start in the charts - Fantasy Life: Link! lapping up 18,234 sales and LEGO City: Undercover for Wii U building its way into 18,199 new homes.

Pikmin 3 just secures its place in the top 10 with a 14,161 sales, a 50% drop from the week before.

As for hardware, the Nintendo 3DS maintains its lead over the other formats, selling 54,975 units. Wii U is still struggling behind the pack with 11,373 units - a far cry from the Pikmin 3 launch week.
