Capcom have discussed the localisation decisions with the upcoming Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies.
The reason why Capcom have opted for a download-only title this year was originally thought to be retail support, but the main reason for the move is localisation - according to producer Motehide Eshiro. Speaking to Polygon this week, Eshiro confirmed that "offering a downable version was one of the ways to cut down" the wait between the Japanese and Western releases.
Another reason was that it would be "more convenient for the users" to have game stored on the cartridge.
However for those craving the smell of Phoenix's files as a boxed product, Capcom would consider a physical boxed version in the future.
"That's something we would have to think about and see if it's a viable solution for the series."
