E3 2013 | A Look ar Air Battles in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Details from the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y developer roundtable have filtered in, including hairstyles, badges and stats.

Many of the details covered had been disclosed in previous articles, however the developers confirmed new attributes for the upcoming Pokémon generation including eight new gym badges and the new Pokémon Aime virtual-pet feature.

By petting Pokémon, players can improve stats like dodging in battle and would have a healthier relationship overall with their critters. Stats like EV and IVs will also become more prominent this time round, with number crunchers able to see these figures for each of their Pokémon.

There was also a demonstration of a brand new typeo f battle - Sky battles - where a trainer above ground was able to tackle a rival on the ground. The camera would vary between air and ground for a more dynamic approach to battle scenarios.

Finally, for the linguist in you Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will offer support for seven different languages - English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Korean and of course, Japanese. Why not brush up on those translation skills?

What are your thoughts on the new air battles in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y?

More variation, cannot complain!
Not played Pokemon since Diamond and Pearl, and didn't get far through them. If I pick up a 3DS sometime I will definitely get back into it ^^
