E3 2013 | Nintendo Confirms Wii U Pro Controller for Super Mario 3D World on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo have confirmed that Super Mario 3D World will support the Wii U Pro Controller.

With the upcoming 3D platformer including support for four players, there were concerns that those not using the GamePad would have to use the D-Pad on the Wii Remote to control characters in 3D given the promo image sent to press:

However, a statement from Nintendo of America to Cubed3, the company confirmed that the final release will contain support for the Wii U Pro Controller for those wanting to play using analogue sticks instead of the D-Pad. It's uncertain whether nunchuck will be supported, however.

The final product will be compatible with the Wii U Pro Controller so users will be able to decide which style suits them best.

Will you play Super Mario 3D World using a D-PAd or Analogue stick?

This is great news. Was fearing I'd have to settle with the wiimote in nes style, which imo sucks for 3D games
