E3 2013 | Wii Fit Trainer Enters Super Smash Bros. Ring on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo rallied the press round to its booth this afternoon to reveal a new tidbit of information after Nintendo Direct.

Whilst the announcement of Mega Man in the next Super Smash Bros. was one of the highlights of the Nintendo E3 Direct today, the company had one more surprise in store for fans - the confirmation of another new face for the franchise brawler: the Wii Fit Trainer.

Bringing her fitness repertoire to the classic fighting game, the Wii Fit Trainer will be another new addition to Super Smash Bros. when the game launches on Wii U next year.

I'd make a joke about Wii Fit Trainer being my new main, but Mega Man leaves no room for jokes.

Still, if I can whack somebody across the head with a Wii Fit Balance Board, I'll definitely use her/him!

I'd make a joke that I'm worried this character won't...fit into the game, but I just did.

For all of you guys complaining, you're taking it a bit too seriously.Smash bros has had novelty/joke/silly characters before. ROB from Brawl? G&W from Melee. You guys were cool with them adding a stick figure and a novelty accessory that's not even a VG character before, so c'mon, it's not that bad. Not to mention, it's one character. There's a ton of other characters coming in as well so don't let one character kill the whole thing for you. Plus who knows, maybe she'll be really fun to use. you never know. I for one finds this hilarious and interesting.

You're right, I was just joking around as usual. I don't think I could even use her, though. I'd just be laughing my ass off all the time.

Odd choice for sure but adding unexpected characters into the mix is always fun. She looks like she plays pretty decently as well so I don't mind Smilie She's no Megaman though xD

I seriously thought this was a joke... I'm so... confused...

I guess it's a cool addition, it IS meant to be representative of Nintendo's biggest franchises. If they're adding characters like this though, they better make up for it by including Layton, Phoenix, or someone else crazy awesome.

To be fair I'm still ecstatic about AC Villager.

She's also not a clone character so that's good. As long as we get some awesome characters like Palutena from Kid Icarus then I'm fine with these characters getting in. Megaman's already blown my mind so I'm happy for the time being Smilie

To be honest I never used Sonic that much I couldn't get the hang of him! But I know it brought a lot of fans to the franchise! 

I hope Nintendo add some more cool 3rd Party players I can't even start to imagine the list of characters I want!!!

The male WiiFit trainer is who I use so I hope he's available as an alternative to her. Would allow me to finally get my revenge for beating me on the muscle challenges. Smilie

Love these wacky additions. Beats clones. I just hope every original character from the past games is in. Take away clones but don't get rid of originals.

The only thing I could think of is an alternate costume with the same moveset. Screw having individual characters for the both of them. Smilie
