Nintendo's flagship racing franchise is back in 2014 and brings together the best Mario Kart elements into a new Wii U title.
Nintendo are literally taking Mario Kart to a new level with brand new circuit designs that incorporate anti-gravity enhancements to traditional karts and bikes. A new feature will allow players to cling onto walls, venture upside down and break through conventions for all sorts of nifty shortcuts.
There'll be a return to 12-player online races, plus elements from Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart Wii making a return: bikes, hang gliders and trick platforms.
Toadette and Waluigi also rejoin the cast in Mario Kart 8.
Running at a solid 60fps with stunning HD graphics, Mario Kart 8 will be zipping to a living room near you in Spring 2014.
For now, the E3 trailer and screenshots of Mario and co. on the racing line - more snaps in the screenshot's album below.
