E3 2013 | Conquer Gravity in Mario Kart 8 - Debut Trailer and Screenshots on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo's flagship racing franchise is back in 2014 and brings together the best Mario Kart elements into a new Wii U title.

Nintendo are literally taking Mario Kart to a new level with brand new circuit designs that incorporate anti-gravity enhancements to traditional karts and bikes. A new feature will allow players to cling onto walls, venture upside down and break through conventions for all sorts of nifty shortcuts.

There'll be a return to 12-player online races, plus elements from Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart Wii making a return: bikes, hang gliders and trick platforms.

Toadette and Waluigi also rejoin the cast in Mario Kart 8.

Running at a solid 60fps with stunning HD graphics, Mario Kart 8 will be zipping to a living room near you in Spring 2014.

This Mario Kart looks INCREDIBLE!

The biggest worlds yet and the anti-gravity factor is going to bring an awesome new dynamic to the game.

I can't wait!!!

Highlight of the show for me so far, looks amazing. Gutted it's 2014 though Smilie But massively excited!

I agree. I got Mario Kart Wii sooooo late, this time I definitely don't want to miss out. Online multiplayer was such a blast in MKW. They also brought back bikes which I really missed, now here's hoping there'll be some indrifting bikes (as opposed to the outdrifting karts). That was by far my favourite mechanic in MKW.

You mean like Magicruzer or Dolphin Dasher? I hope so! Easily the best vehicle type in MK Wii!

I think so, I always used the Mach Bike with Daisy which was indrifting as well. Smilie

Easily the best moment for me. Looks so gorgeous and runs smooth! I honestly didn't think they'd put that much effort into the visuals, judging by past MK games, so it was a surprise. I'm so glad it has 12 player online, as well!

It's about time they upgraded the visuals a fair amount especially the character models xD
