New Unconfirmed Pokémon X and Y Updates on Fairy Types, Multiple Mewtwo Forms on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

RUMOUR: More potential but unconfirmed Pokémon X and Y news has started to circulate on fairy types and Mewtwo's two new forms.

Despite on onslaught of official information on Pokémon X and Pokémon Y released earlier today, new unconfirmed rumours suggest some interesting aspects about the forthcoming generation:

Fairy, which was suggested last month, will be a new type that's immune to Dragon but weak to Poison/Steel. Would be super effective against Dragon, Dark and Fighting types with half damage for fire/psychic type opponents.

  • The new critter Sylveon is said to be Fairy, with reclassification for some existing Pokémon.
  • Mewtwo is rumoured to have two new forms that are activated by items. One we've seen already, who knows what the other might look like if true.
  • The final evolution of the starter critters are said to be Fire/Psychic, Grass/Fighting plus Water/Dark.
  • The first gym is said to be Bug, second Fairy and fourth Fighting.
  • There'll be a new style in battle that Flying-type and Pokémon with Levitate can participate in.
  • There'll also be an in-game facility to check Pokémon EVs with the ability to boost EVs through participating in mini-games.
What do you think of this new batch of unconfirmed Pokémon X and Pokémon Y tidbits?

That's all good news to me. Let's hope it's true.

I am praying to Arceus that these are true.

Oh god, please let this be true. EVs are such a royal pain in the ass to deal with, they should really become more transparent and controllable. How about a way to check IVs while you're at it? I normally use web tools to determine those but they most likely won't have base stats for the new Pokémon for a while.

Oh and a Fire/Psychic starter evolution? Yes! So much want! Although I thought Fire/Psychic, Grass/Dark and Water/Fighting would make a lot more sense, since it gives each starter an advantage against what's otherwise its weakness. The rumoured way would just be overkill.

Fairy Type seems like a magic muffin made of rainbows that got made up to counter some still overpowered pokémon types. Not sure if I like the sound of that. Thankfully these are still rumours and the actual Fairy type might come out a lot less magicmuffin.

Also I think the starter typing mentioned in the rumours should be like SirLink said. Might just be a typo, or it's because whoever wrote this down is talking out of his ass and doesn't know pokémon :p

I know this isnt the appropriate place to ask but here goes. I really want a pure black 3ds xl but in the UK it still doesnt have a release date. I found out that in France and Germany it has already been released and I can buy it from european Amazon sites. I know these 3ds are pal region so buying games isnt a problem. Will the language settings on the system include English?

Most likely yes. Just as the DS I bought in the Netherlands includes French, German, etc. In Europe we tend to share language settings, which is why back in the day localisation was such a pain in the butt

I'll need to learn to remember the type advantages of the Fairy type.

This news sounds rather nice, but I'm kind of against the idea of fairy type, especially if it means changing old pokemon's typing, like clefairy and togetic. I think it's a little late in the game to add new types or mess with earlier generations. Other than that, the starters sound cool, and so doesthe region ( although I'm still waiting for a region based on Canada). I can't wait to hear the story about mewtwo. Will mew return too?

If they would make mini games to boost ev's then it would be more enjoyable and fun to do it rather than how it is now. Smilie

i bet u my little pony influenced the idea of fairy type

I can now say officially that I do not understand at all how they come up with type weaknesses and strengths.
