One of the team who worked at Free Radical has taken to Reddit to answer questions about Star Wars: Battlefront 3, which included a Nintendo Wii U version.
Early development footage from the canned project was streamed last week as part of the unofficial Star Wars Day, May the 4th (be with you). The game was in development for two years, but was cancelled by LucasArts due to cost factors.
On Reditt, the team member was quizzed on the Wii edition to which he replied "the controls on the Wii were fantastic. Blasting someone with your Wiimote was up there in the list of cool." Despite the Wii edition not being comparable to the HD editions visually, "it was the gameplay on the Wii that really made it."
Would the project ever return from the scrapyard? He feels that "with the closing of Lucasarts, I don't expect this version (the FRD version) to come out" and that it's down to Disney to "really do something with the IP".
What do you think of the footage and news that Star Wars: Battlefront 3 was also in development for Nintendo Wii?
