Mario Golf: World Tour 3DS - New Online Play Details

Mario Golf is driving and putting its way to Nintendo 3DS this year, with new details described during Nintendo Direct today.

During the video presentation, president Satoru Iwata highlighted online features available in the upcoming game. There'll be standard real-time matches and specific communities like Mario Kart 7 for like-minded golfers. In addition, there'll also be the standard local options available.

Special rules can be set for each match - for example traditional golfing rules, ones with special moves and even limited to certain characters - like Luigi - for a versatile approach to golfing multiplayer.

Mario Golf: World Tour is out this summer for Nintendo 3DS.
