Nintendo wrapped up proceedings today by confirming a Nintendo 3DS sequel to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
The second Legend of Zelda game for Nintendo 3DS won't be using the Ocarina of Time and 3D engine in more recent 3D adventures, but instead will be a top-down view like the classic top-down adventures.
Set in the same world as A Link to the Past, the new Zelda game will include new dungeons and story. The untitled game will use 3D models and landscape, with players able to see a greater depth to the previous sprite/pixel driven 2D Legend of Zelda games.
A new mechanic detailed during Nintendo Direct was the ability to literally turn into a "piece of paper", clinging to walls to move around areas previously inaccessible.
The Legend of Zelda 3DS is due for release in late 2013.
