EA Responds to "Worst Company in America" Poll on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

EA has responded to a North American poll that has voted the publisher amongst the worst companies in America.

The home of FIFA, Madden, Sim City, Mass Effect and many more high-profile franchises was voted for by the public, slipping past retailer Walmart, providers Comcast, Time Warner Cable and AT&T as the worst out of the bunch. EA took down Facebook, Apple and numerous others in earlier rounds of the "Worst Company" Consumerist tournament.

Today EA heads up against Ticketmaster for the unfortunate crown.

EA's chief operating officer Peter Moore admitted that the company has "made plenty of mistakes." Amongst these faux pas include "server shut downs too early, games that didn't meet expectations, missteps on new pricing models and most recently, severely fumbling the launch of SimCity. We owe gamers better performance than this."

However Moore believes a majority of votes may have come from those who disagreed with the latest Madden game cover and from "conservatives protesting the company's LGBT policy".

He concluded that the company are "committed to fixing our mistakes".

The poll was no small feat either, with more than 250,000 voters nominating EA up the ranks to the "worst company in America" finals.

Do you have issues with gaming giant EA Games - are there other contenders for your "worst company" vote?

I read the C3 article thinking that EA had won everything, but they're actually only in the "semifinals." Today they face off against Ticketmaster! Good grief, what two loathsome companies, representing the worst of two of my greatest passions.

I don't think I've bought an EA game in years because I really can't stand them (even though I miss my Bioware games). But I've definitely not bought a concert ticket through Ticketmaster in probably five years. They have a monopoly on the live concert tickets national acts, and they sell tickets for a lot of smaller acts. Now I only go to the smaller gigs where you buy tickets at the door. Those are cheaper and more fun anyway.

Hmm... which to choose...

Exactly! Take the beating and be quiet EA.

I don't really buy an EA games other than FIFA and don't get me wrong i have spent an incredible amount of time on FIFA 13 but i only buy a football game every 2-3 years. Either way while FIFA 13 is good is was still full of really annoying bugs by December, something that is still existent.

However I wouldn't go as far to say the worst company in America...

I would think that this is due to Sim City and people's apparent dislike for micro-transactions (despite people still actually buying things), people only really think of these things on recency and recently EA have pissed off a lot of people!

Well I'd say this is justly deserved & will put them in their place when they try & force gamers to waste money on content that should've been in the final product of the game. Hopefully this ALSO help mend the relationship with Nintendo & means a Dead Space Trilogy won't be impossible.

Screw Micro Transactions, all those "little" purchases add up to one HUGE; unnecessary bill.

On a side note I wonder if this helps Activision feel better about themselves? XD

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422
