Gaist Crusher Announced for Nintendo 3DS from Capcom on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Capcom announced a new IP for Nintendo 3DS franchise this morning entitled Gaist Crusher.

The new series, which will include the usual run of games, manga/animé and merchandise, is a concept primarily aimed at school children, blending together and youthful accessibility of Mega Man with the multiplayer nature of Monster Hunter.

By the looks of things, Gaist Crusher sees a youthful cast who can summon custom armour and use these powers to take on monsters and other unsightly foes. Capcom released a debut trailer for the Gaist Crusher concept, due for release in Japan on Nintendo 3DS this winter - what do you think?

What hurts the most is that environments & certain gameplay elements look strikingly similar to what Megaman Legends 3 beta looked like...damn you current Capcom......damn you.....T_T

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

And EX Troopers, which couldn't come to the West because of a dumb design decision - all the text was coded as art.

Capcom are very daft lately. I can't help but wonder, why didn't they simply reinvent MegaMan instead of this? I can't say a new IP is ever a bad idea though, but Capcom are perfectly capable of making a new MegaMan side-series that appeals to their sought demographic. Capcom of Japan's weird vendetta against MM continues.

Still, this looks cool. I could see it being localised too where EX Troopers couldn't. EX Troopers is one of those games that highlights a bit of disparity between Capcom Unity and CoJ, not to SEGA's level, but some games probably just aren't made with western fanbases in consideration.
