David Adams, Vigil co-founder and now CEO of Crytek USA, is reported to have expressed interest in bidding for rights to the Darksiders franchise.
Adams' previous studio, Vigil, went under after the demise of publisher THQ and subsequently saw the end to the Darksiders series when no-one picked it up. Adams and the core part of the Vigil Games team went onto open a branch of Crytek in Austin, Texas where Adams is now CEO.
According to an unconfirmed Twitter account claiming to be Adams, he is "looking to buy Darksiders IP back from THQ. The IP belongs in the hands of its creators".

If true, it shows some hope for the Darksiders franchise which is now sitting very much in limbo.
Earlier today Nintendo posted a message on the European eShop to alert fans that Darksiders II, as a Wii U download, will no longer be available after March 31st.
Are you a fan of Darksiders? Would you like to series continue with its original creators?
