Nintendo 3DS has once again crept into pole position in Japan, with the Wii U still trailing miles behind.
After a slight sales slump the Nintendo 3DS XL (LL in Japan) sold 47,985 units for the week ending 17th March, having previously lost out to the mammoth rise in PlayStation Vita sales the week previous. The original Nintendo 3DS model is still enjoying a healthy stream behind both consoles.
On the home console front, the Wii U still trails behind old hardware - including the original PSP and the aging PlayStation 3 - with less than 10,000 units sold for the week.
The top ten software for the week includes Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Professor Layton and the Azran Legacies and Dragon Quest VII: Warriors of Eden on the Nintendo 3DS, blending in with various PlayStation 3 titles.
There were zero Wii U titles in the top 20.
