The official website for Ace Attorney 5 has been updated with new details on partner character Kizuki Kokone and clue hunting.
The forthcoming game for Nintendo 3DS sees players once again taking on Phoneix Wright as the lead character, joined by new heroine Kizuki. As a graduate of law from the US, she taps into witnesses' emotions by using a "Heart Scope" to listen to how a witness might be feeling and find any contradictions.

However it won't be that easy as reading hearts will conjure up a noise level. In order to seek the truth players will need to break down the noise level to "hear" what the heart has to say. There'll be four different emotions on the screen - happy, angry, shocked, upset - that need to be worked out in order to reduce that level and gain a tasty bit of truth for the case.

The website also gives the first glimpse of 3D investigations/exploration, where players can fully explore a scene by moving the camera over, under and around a room or location instead of a fixed position. One of the examples shown shows a bomb under a table that could only be seen by moving the camera underneath it, adding a new level of immersion to the point-and-click sections.

What do you think of the new partner character, heart mechanic and 3D exploration?
