Mining Robot Takes on Nintendo 3DS with SteamWorld Dig

Swedish developer Image & Form have announced a new Nintendo 3DS eShip game involving a steam-powered robot who digs.

Known as SteamWorld Dig, the upcoming Nintendo 3DS eShop game sees players taking on the role of a robot chap known as Rusty who arrives in an old Western mining town and digs through the earth for treasure but unwittingly uncovers an ancient threat.

It's a world where humans huddle in caves beneath the Earth's surface and robots have taken over the Wild West at the turn of the 19th century.

The studio have released the fist screenshots of SteamWorld Dig and are aiming to launch the game in mid 2013.
