North America Gets Wii U ZombiU Deluxe Set Bundle on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

In a bid to boost sales of the system in North America, Nintendo America has confirmed a new Wii U bundle for the region.

The Limited Edition ZombiU Deluxe Set includes a 32GB black Wii U console, a black Wii U Pro Controller, ZombiU, a digital download code for Nintendo Land, plus a collectible ZombiU booklet that contains artwork and never-before-seen developer commentary. The pack includes the Digital Deluxe Promotion, which gives users that buy downloads on the Nintendo eShop 10 per cent back in points to purchase future digital games and content.

The ZombiU Deluxe Set will be rolling out across the US and Canada from February 17 and will retail for $389.99, a saving of $70 if buying everything separately.

It's good for them. However I will never understand why, of all games that they could have made a special bundle with a Pro Controller, they chose this one which only uses the Pro Controller in its offline multiplayer mode... Would have made much better sense with a game where the Pro Controller makes a much better sense, like Black Ops 2 or Assassin's Creed 3.

Well this certainly pisses me off. I paid $350 for just the system, $50 for the controller, and $60 for that game, lol. Oh well, no use complaining about it now. Pretty cool bundle, it's a great deal.

Why wasn't this out during launch? D: I would've gotten this bundle!

Zombi U is selling worse than Red Steel.

Both companies are desperate.

What are you talking about?

Also, who has a link to US and UK sales numbers for ZombiU?

Ubisoft are unlikely to have released official numbers, but all the signs are there. Wii U exclusives have been non-existent in the top tens in the largest markets in Europe, and the US.

Ubisoft have also passed comment a few times regarding what they see as a disappointing launch. Yesterday their CEO said this...

It's really no wonder Rayman Legends has gone multi-platform, it makes no sense to tap out of a revenue stream that has proved itself with the critically acclaimed original.

That's Activision's CEO and he's just concerned about not selling to enough kids.

I really don't understand the talk about a disappointing launch. Over 3 million units in a month and a half is really great. Compared to other console launches, Wii only sold 200k more and the PS3 and 360 both sold a lot less. If these companies are expecting the PS4 and 720 to blow away 3 million units during their launch, they are going to be very disappointed.

Also, I wouldn't focus too much on whether games for a new system reach the Top 10. Games are naturally going to be able to sell more when there is an install base of 70 million (PS3) or 75 million (360). I think the important factor is comparing the percent of console owners who own a game. When you do that the percentages for Wii U vs. PS3/360 aren't that different.

Robbed you of the extra pennies that many would have paid without the bundle.

I can't really comment on the game as i haven't played it, but i hate when games (or consoles) drop in price almost a couple of weeks after launch like the Wii U did in the UK
