The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct Creeps onto Nintendo Wii U on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo Wii U is being rampaged with another blend of zombie horror with The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct confirmed for the console today.

Speaking to Digital Spy, producer Glenn Gamble noted how the the team "didn't want to change the game", so pondered how to add to it with a Wii U release. Quite simply, the Nintendo edition includes a "inventory management system. With the Wii U you have access to your backpack at all times, so you can tap what weapons you want, you can drop stuff. It's a lot more streamlined" - perhaps inspired by Ubisoft's approach in Wii U launch title ZombiU.

Survival Instinct is based on the hit television series, unlike Telltale's version which followed the comics, and is intended to be a prequel.

The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is being developed by Terminal Reality for Activision and due out March 29th in Europe.

Finally a new multi platform game announced for the wii U. The game will not look as good as it does in those screen shots!  I dont think we should expect radical changes to games when they are ported. So probably more often or not the greatest games will be delivered by Nintendo, small indies, and some out there japanese companies.

Developed by 'Terminal Reality'? Seems like a cheap cash-in from Activision...

I'd rather have that Telltale game.

I don't get all the love for Telltale's game. I have it for iOS and it's like a cheaply-made and unresponsive point and click adventure with all action in the form of quicktime events, it's like playing an extremely long Resident Evil 5 cutscene. I've heard the story makes it worth it so I'm trying to slog through it, but I'm really not impressed at all. I thought it might just be the iOS version, but I watched videos of the Xbox version and it doesn't seem much better. It has to at least be worth getting through GameFly though.

That said, Terminal Reality being attached to this doesn't give me much hope. Looking at their past catalogue, it seems like they're who you go to when you want a game made very fast and very cheap.

yeah same, looks a lot more interesting.

Not the Walking Dead game I wanted to see... I'm dying to play TellTales The Walking Dead. I got excited when I heard this elsewhere, than learned it was this Walking Dead.

Why wouldn't it?
Wii U is capable of better than that.
