Tank! Tank! Tank! Wii U Free-to-Play in Japan on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Namco Bandai's explosive Wii U game has become the first to go from retail to free-to-play.

The launch game can be downloaded as a demo on the Nintendo Wii U eShop, which includes single, multiplayer features and the basic map for the various modes. However the demo can be "upgraded" to the full release by downloading additional content.

Likewise, the free/starter edition of Tank! Tank! Tank! can only be played three times a day until upgraded.

What do you think of the free-to-play approach? Would a similar campaign in your region make Tank! Tank! Tank! more appealing?

I bet any GOOD game would entice more buyers to pay with that system. Bad games would rather stay out of it and let people get the bad news after paying for them....
