New 3DS Trailer for Level-5

Earlier this week Level-5 and Brownie Brown released new footage of the collaborative 3DS project, Fantasy Life.

Out this December, Fantasy Life finds players exploring a gorgeous portable town and engaging in all sorts of different jobs, form relationships with NPCs and head out into the wild for a battle or two. Highly anticipated by a growing number of fans, Fantasy Life has undergone two visual makeovers so far, and is finally on track for a Japanese release on Nintendo 3DS.

This latest footage explores home customisation, some battle snippets plus a visually impressive animated sequence that brings ou the vibrancy and colourful nature of the new town.

Looks fantastic.

I do wish this trailer was subtitled so I could get a better idea what is going on here.

If the game is localized, I plan on playing it solely based on the development team, but I am also intrigued by the concept. A little bit Harvest Moon, a little bit Animal Crossing, and a little bit FFCC: Ring of Fates.

I love the simplicity and fluidity of the battle system. I just want to know how the gameplay is balanced with the narrative, and if there is any focus on more than upgrades/exploration/customization. It would be really great to see some fleshed out characters, even if such material was limited to sidequests. Harvest Moon has done that well before.

I'm also very curious how large the world is. That is an area where games like Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon have really suffered.

Like video game music?!
