Wii U Owner Gets Into Miiverse Mock-up Menu, Reveals Potential Games on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

One curious Wii U owner has managed to break into a mockup admin area in the Miiverse, revealing potential game names.

When you hear the words "hack" and "security" with a home console, it might be assumed that it would involve long nights of continual code breaking and pints of coffee. Instead a user on NeoGAF Trike was able to access a debug/mock-up area by simply holding down X whilst rolling over the exit button.

Interestingly, Trike uncovered various potential game forums due to become public on 10th December. Despite having names for "Yoshi's Land Wii U", "Soul Hackers", "Metal Gear Solid", "Metroid" and "Resident Evils" with the "s", it seems to either be simple random names for testing, a hint of what's to come or a even combination of both.

There were also areas to moderate comments and manage admin users.

Since then Nintendo has responded, confirming that it was a "mock up menu on Miiverse" and has since been removed.

Regardless, not a major issue by any means, but a sign that some fine tuning certainly is in order for the new online setup and Miiverse on Wii U.

Obviously they're bringing us Resident Evils 5 and 6 Umbrella/Darkside Chronicles with slightly better graphics and slightly different controls.

Kidding, of course. Sort of.

Why Final Fantasy 3? Are these all VC games?

Final Fantasy 3 makes sense, since Square-Enix's latest business model is to port FF3 to every device known to mankind! Smilie

Same can be said for Capcom porting RE4 to every device known to mankind. It's all coming together.

This happened to a US WiiU right? I recall Final Fantasy III being a localised name for a later FF at one point. Smilie

Pheonom....you'd better ne joking cause I do NOT want my hopes to be dashed to pieces if FF6 (SNES FF3) doesn't come to Wii U or 3DS...I'll die a happy man if it does though.

I actually feel sorry for this guys, with how secretive Nintendo is this guy's account could be band (rather inepropriate given the fact that Nintendo left this door wide open) or there will be a required update to lock this door the following day.....which I'm sure will happen.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

Soul Hackers makes sense for a 3DS localization but not for a WiiU remake/up-port, so that leads me to believe that this list if authentic incorporates games for both machines. And I can see a FF6 remake being far more likely for 3DS than the huge comparitive cost on WiiU.

Interesting stuff regardless, looks like the US are the WiiU beta testers for the rest of the gaming world (no offense guys Smilie)

That's very interesting. I wonder if there are any other 'hacks'?
