Resident Evil 2 Remake a Possibility Given Enough Fan Support on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Speaking to GameSpot in a video question-and-answer session, Resident Evil 6 producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi opened up about the possibility of a remake of the classic survival horror game Resident Evil 2, which started its life on PlayStation, and has since been ported to multiple consoles, including Nintendo 64 and GameCube.

Just to lay all the cards on the table, that way there's no rumor-mongering or things like that, no, we are not working on a Resident Evil 2 remake as of now. But if the fans really clamor for it; if there's a groundswell of support for remaking that game, then I think that's something Capcom would take under consideration.

Hirabayashi worked as a motion capture engineer for the remake of the original Resident Evil on GameCube, which was eventually ported to Wii, too, and was met with universal praise, with some calling it the scariest and most visually stunning game to be made. Certainly with today's powerhouse consoles, the prospect of a remake of Resident Evil 2 is something that a lot of survival horror fans would want to see, so if they do speak up perhaps we could be seeing 'REmake 2' on Wii U in the future...

Throw in a copy of the never before release of resident evil 1.5 and I'll buy the remake then.

No thanks if it's made by the same people who have made RE6

Respect & revive the Megaman franchise before you go ruin another classic Cap...

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

If it's like what the RE1 remake turned out like then I'm all for it.

It should only be in RE1 remake style.
