Animal crossing canned for Europe?

Nintendo have commented and hinted for a while now that Animal Crossing would not make it here.

After seeing a game like Doshin the Giant (a very Japanese type of game) here, it would have made sense for Animal Crossing to be released here.

Nintendo stated that they have had localisation problems and as Europe has so many different languages, you can see why.

Nintendo also said that as Animal Crossing 2 is well into development, they may wait and release that here.
