E3 2012 Media | Fan Made Zelda: Majora

UPDATE - The video has been confirmed as fan made.

Just minutes before Nintendo's E3 Conference a gorgeous video turned viral, suggesting a remake for Zelda: Majora's Mask.

Moments before Reggie Fils-Aime, Miyamoto and co took the stage in Los Angeles, a mysterious video claimed to be leaked from a project in development by Nintendo. It portrays the opening scene from the fan-favourite Legend of Zelda adventure - Majora's Mask, a game last seen over a decade ago on the Nintendo 64.

It's left a mixed reception amongst fans - some are willing to bet an entire Nintendo collection that this video is indeed real, others have brushed it to one side as fake. The lack of Zelda at the conference has swayed this towards the fake side, but you never know with Nintendo.

Then again it maybe a CGI/conceptt trailer for a yet-to-be-announced remake on the 3DS instead.

The House of Mario has yet to comment on the matter. For now, feast your eyes on one of the most sublime Zelda teasers to date, even more so if made by a fan.

What do you think of the potential Majora's Mask remake? Should this direction and style be what Nintendo should venture into for the next Zelda game?

This was sadly bittersweet. It's too good to be true Smilie unless...

Hope this comes true, Majora's Mask over Ocarina of Time for me.

Still I'd prefer a full on HD reminagining of A Link to the Past...BEST Zelda EVER!!

Even if it is confirmed fake, I wouldn't mind a MM remake. Majora's Mask was a brilliant game, and I would love for Nintendo to take this sort of unconventional approach for the next Legend of Zelda!

And I don't doubt you, Superlink, but where was this confirmed as a fake?

Working like a fiend isn't very fun... and surprisingly isn't very fiendish either.

Fake but fantastic.

If it were real. Well. I wouldn't object at all. Actually, I'd embrace it with open it arms.

Still another kick where it's needed.

I SO want this to be true ....

There are 10 types of people in the world: Those that understand binary and those that don't ..

Well damn that's dissapointing...

Hopefully Nintendo pays attention to this & listens to fans hopeful reactions...they'd be stupid NOT TO, especially with their "go for the hardcore" mission statement. I don't think they want to misslead people THIS TIME!!

Music scared me. Just like it did all those years ago.

Gets me every time.

I just don't like how it's always called Legend of Zelda instead of Legend of Link. That little girl never does anything

I don't think the next Zelda game will be very dark. I hope I am wrong, because I love the dark titles--especially MM.

I think it would be interesting to see Link leave Hyrule again. MM is still the only console Zelda to not take place in the Golden Land. As long as I get a new engine, a new locale, or a new story I'll be delighted. I only need 1 out of 3. I have faith in everything else.

Like video game music?!
