New Colour Alert: Nintendo 3DS in Purple

Nintendo are embracing the colour spectrum with a new addition to the 3DS hardware variety in time for summer: Midnight Purple.

To co-inside with the release of Mario Tennis Open on May 20th in the US, there'll be a new flavour of 3DS to purchase on the shelves - joining the likes of Cosmo Black, Aqua Blue, Flame Red and Pearl Pink. As the name suggests, it's a standard 3DS model bathed in a rather GameCube-esque lilac finish, baring a slight resemblance to the Game Boy Colour purple model too. You like?

The console will retail alongside the other versions for an RRP of $169.99.
