Zero Escape: Sequel to Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors Confirmed for US 3DS on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

A sequel to the successful title 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors has been confirmed and is set to be released in October this year. Virtue's Last Reward, known as Good People Die in Japan, will be available on the Nintendo 3DS and Playstation Vita.

Both games are now classified as part of the Zero Escape series, 'Zero' being the name of the mysterious abductor from the first title. Characters from 999 feature again in VLR but it is unknown to what extent. Several new characters are also introduced who are said to merit additional investigation.

Other features of the forthcoming title include dual language support allowing communication in both English and Japanese, fully voiced novel sections, 24 unique endings and an impressive 3D environment to immerse yourself into.

The 3DS box art for Virtue's Last Reward is now available to view on Amazon.

Shame I never had time to review it, because 999 on DS was a definite 10/10 in my eyes. Amazing game with SO much depth, and playing through all the story threads was definitely worth it.

Of course, I was able to actually import 999 thanks to the lack of region lock on DS...this is a completely different matter. Let's hope RSG, Ghostlight, or someone else brings it to Europe!

Agreed on the 10/10 for 999.

I really hope VLR gets brought to Europe, even though the first game never did so it seems unlikely..

Otherwise I'll just have to import the Vita version from US, good thing the Vita's region free.
