Square Enix has finally confirmed that Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, the rhythm music spin-off of the popular RPG series, is heading to Europe and North America this summer.
As part of the celebrations of 25 years of the franchise, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is a game designed with fans in mind, complete with over 70 original scores from all of the thirteen main games, as well as optional DLC of tracks from the numbered games and spin-offs. Any fans of Nobuo Uematsu's works over the years will more than likely find many of their favourites in the Nintendo 3DS game.
Theatrhythm, pronounced "Theatre Rhythm," lets players choose one of the main games in the series, I to XIII, to play through in Field, Battle and Event stages featuring music from the respective games. You can choose four of your favourite characters, complete in cute chibi Kingdom Hearts Mobile design, to play as, tapping and sliding to the beats, racking up points and defeating enemies. The game offers plenty of unlockable music, characters and movies to keep players coming back for more.
An exact release date hasn't been given for either territory at the moment, and nor do we know if any changes or additions will be made to the Western release, but for now, Final Fantasy fans can be happy in the knowledge that Theatrhythm Final Fantasy will be coming out here sometime in the summer.
