Double Prince of Persia This Week for Virtual Console on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

This week's European Virtual Console updates include a double helping of the classic platformer Prince of Persia.

Ubisoft hope to inject a slice of classic 2D action to both the 3DS and Wii with ports of the original game. Queue sweaty palms and hair ripping as you guide the poor Prince through sprawling levels, dodge deadly traps in a bid to save a damsel in distress.

The 3DS will see the Game Boy Colour edition for €5.00 or £4.50 in the UK, whilst the Wii gets the upgraded SNES adventure for 800 Wii points. Portable players can tap into 12 challenging levels, whilst those playing on the big screen can sample over 20 tricky stages.

The DSiWare service also gets a pair of treats - a huge collection of brain-teasers in 40-in-1 Explosive Megamix, plus classic tower-defense game Come On! Heroes.

Spent so many hours on this as a kid. I had borrowed a US copy from a friend, and was disgusted when I found out the passwords I got from a European magazine didn't work for the US copy (both versions had completely different passwords), so I had to play it the rough way, without cheating Smilie.

I still have the password cheat today, carefully archived along with so many other passwords for all those old games Smilie.
