Sonic 4: Episode 2 Teaser Revealed on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Update: A post in the SEGA Forums confirms that Episode 2 will NOT be granted a WiiWare release.

But no - the reason Episode I was on the Wii was because we wanted to bring the Sonic 4 saga to the widest possible audience. Episode II unfortunately will not be coming to the Wii - for reasons most people have probably guessed, but that doesn't mean the SEGA isn't supporting Nintendo platforms, we have a very strong partnership and will continue to do so.

Via Nintendo Life.

Original Story:
The first episode of the downloadable Sonic the Hedgehog 4 came with a marmite reception, so SEGA are hoping to put things right.

Today Digital Brand Manger Ken Balough spoke to GameSpot on the potential changes for Episode 2 - including both a new graphics and physics engine - due to heavy complaints from fans and critics.

Metal Sonic appears to have stepped on the villain pedestal this time round, with Sonic joined by his lifetime sidekick Miles "Tails" Prower.

Unfortunately there's no mention of the Wii, 3DS or any other Nintendo format for now, but this was the case with the original Episode 1 reveal. Current formats include PS3, Xbox 360, Android, iPhone and Windows.

HOLY CRAP it took them THIS LONG to release any info on Episode 2!?!?!?!????? What HAVE you been doing SEGA...?

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

Tails being featured in episode 2 is the worst kept secret ever... Sega is too predictable.

In about a month

Rumor: Episode 3 to feature Knuckles....

Mario, Mega Man and Rayman FTW!!!

Good GAWD, what took them so long? Smilie Is it really that difficult for Sega to nail the Sonic formula they established 20 years ago? Smilie

If Episode 2 doesn't come out for Wii, I'm going to be SUPER pissed. :-x

Real shame. No chance of this appearing for digital download for Wii U either? I would have thought that was more likely.

"Obvious reasons." That's the size limit thing right? If so, that's not really Sega's fault. Hopefully Wii U will allow for it.

Just had a message from Ken saying that there are currently no plans for a 3DS version. But he said that could change if the demand is there so you never know. Smilie Same goes for WiiU.

Also, it's not exactly a brand new physics engine. It's the same one from episode 1 only heavily re-jigged. Smilie

"Heavily re-jigged" probably implies removal of the most complained about things. Sudden dropping after dashing off a ledge, losing momentum when rolling in a ball, plus the others he already mentioned like uncurling and not sticking to walls. Those would be pretty great improvements to me and I'd then settle for whatever else they do. It's clear any future episodes of Sonic 4 aren't gonna be just like the originals or Sonic Gen; homing attacks and whatever else they added will likely stay. But I'm fine with that. I really liked Sonic 4 Ep 1 for what it was; it still felt like Sonic to me. So I will happily pay for Ep 2 if they fix all those things mentioned, and even if they don't.
