I have to say that I'd really like to listen to this podcast (or pretty much any other C3 podcasts) but it always feels so weird to me when I hear how people I only know on the internet sound. It's the same thing with pictures too. I'll eventually have to deal with it when some online games with voicechat start rolling in but it's really stupid that I just can't seem to get over it. If there is a new version of the 3DS it will most likely only to incorporate the rumored second analogue stick in order to avoid fragmentation of the consumer base. At least that is what I hope.

I definitely agree. This special cradle that incoporates a new Circle Pad, shoulder buttons and Wi-Fi capabilities, as well as possibly a better battery, will definitely be incorporated into a new model 3DS next year.

Shocking? Not at all. Just look at how quickly Apple puts out new revisions of the iPhone and iPad, both of which are FAR more expensive than 3DS.

@ Adam

Apple don't release terribly designed products, and if they did, they wouldn't put them in the market intentionally, like Nintendo have blatently done.

The current 3DS design needs a lot more than a shitty looking analogue stick.

1) New top screen with matt frame window. The sheer amount of reflectivity, on the intentionally crap design, ruins visuals when playing in certain lighting conditions, which are frequent when playing in public.

2) New clam-shell design which doesn't leave bezel and circle pad marks on the top screen whenever you close it. The 3DS is so poorly designed it's truly laughable.

3) New larger, smoother, less squeaky and stiff, Nintendo D-Pad... It saddens me to say this about any Nintendo product. I haven't experienced a D-pad so shit since the Virtual Boy. Even the smaller one found on the GB Micro is better. It also needs better placement to reduce hand cramping. Everything should go higher - circle-pad and D-pad, and circle pads should lie parallel like WiiU. Lets have some uniformity, symmetry and comfort ffs.

4) Increased resistance level on the 3D Slider. It feels really cheap currently, like controls you find on a £/$ shop radio.

6) Increased tension on hinges, heated online play can result in the top screen flapping shut.

7) Much improved ergonomics.

8) New stylus housing placement.

9) Larger buttons and improved layout that considers VC titles.

10) Larger bumpers.

11) Improved battery life

My iPhone 3GS is terrible. Whilst it does some things better than other phones, it lacked a lot of functionality I found with my previous Nokia handset. I'm really not a big fan of Apple's new update each year model, adding a couple of extra features to justify the crazy price-tag, but hey, if punters are willing to throw their money away year after year, fair enough.

Nintendo clearly had to get 3DS out to the marketplace in advance of Sony's PS Vita, and unfortunately cut corners to do so. However, releasing a modified version a year later still shouldn't be seen as a big deal.

You'll have to eat your hat Mike Smilie (or maybe you were referring to a new model and not the analog stick cradle attachment, in which case your hat still has some meager chance of survival Smilie).

Yeah bear in mind that this was recorded two weeks ago, before the confirmation of Monster Hunter 3 Tri G and the analog stick cradle folks (^w^)...

Anyway, let's not forget to share our ideas for the next podcast, dear listeners Smilie.

Apologies to our dear listeners, but I was mistaken in assuming that the PC compilation of Tales of Monkey Island wasn't published by Telltale Games. It seems they did publish it themselves in Europe (them or Lucasarts if they have publishing capabilities in the European Market).

Do readers think that Grezzo should be given the task of bringing Majora's Mask to 3DS, or should the ex-Mana team be given the challenge of a brand new RPG?

Why choose one when we could hopefully get both ^^ ? A new proper Mana game would be good (not a dungeon-RPG like "Children of", or a T-RPG like "Heroes of"), with the help of Brownie Brown and the consent of Square Enix since the brand belongs to them.
