With Sonic Generations coming to the Nintendo 3DS in November, you may still be wondering how the game will take advantage of the system's unique features. SEGA had previously stated that the game would feature StreetPass compatibility, but no details were given on exactly how. SEGA have now released details regarding the game's StreetPass functionality and also how Play Coins will be used.
The StreetPass functionality will allow owners of the game to unlock new missions by passing with other Sonic Generation owners. If you have a lack of people to StreetPass with though, you can always earn Play Coins, which can be used to unlock the extra content, as well.
Sonic Generations comes with a multiplayer mode, which can only be played locally, furthermore each person needs a copy of the game to play with each other. The versus mode puts players against each other, competing for status points and to see who can be the most speedy.
New screenshots have also been released, showcasing the Casino Night Zone and Mushroom Hill Zone stages.
