Nintendo's Katsuya Eguchi discussed a Wii U demo he made that featured Samus Aran's ship. Will there a Metroid game for Wii U?
Eguchi, who recently produced Wii Sports Resort, Animal Crossing: City Folk and Wii Music crafted a Wii U demo for E3 attendees called Battle Mii, which included a cube version of Metroid protagonist Samus' space-ship.
The reference prompted Kotaku to poke Eguchi on whether or not Nintendo has plans to create a new Metroid game for the Wii U.
His reply - unable to disclose any details, but he is "sure there will be a new Metroid release making use of the new controller, not just to control Samus and her ship but also to give the player a new source of information."
Eguchi also suggested that "maybe the player is looking at the screen but has the information that they need to defeat the enemy in their hands." The Wii U controller could also potentially be used to "scan your enemy and find where its weakspot is" by glancing through the touchscreen as a scanner window in itself.
Would you like to see a new Metroid for Wii U? What features would you implement in a new game?
