Tecmo Koei's Team Ninja has confirmed it will be using touch-screen controls for Ninja Gaiden 3 on Wii U, with a control option that works in a similar way to how the excellent Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword on Nintendo DS handled.
The Wii U version of Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge will be somewhat more unique than the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, thanks to the Wii U controller's additional features, although a traditional control set-up will also be up for grabs.
It was almost like fate that we're making making Ninja Gaiden 3 and then we have the option to bring in Dragon Sword controls, that kind of gameplay, to a high spec console version. We feel we'll be able to give players a new kind of gameplay, a new feel with the new controller.
- Yosuke Hayashi, Head of Team Ninja.
Whilst Tecmo Koei has yet to give Ninja Gaiden 3 on Wii U a release date, the other console versions are set for "early 2012" at the moment.
