Capcom on Tatsunoko Versus Sequel

Capcom on Tatsunoko Versus Sequel on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Capcom's Christian Svensson was recently quizzed on the possibility of a Wii sequel to Tatsunoko vs. Capcom - it's unlikely.

The Wii exclusive fighter brought together popular Capcom faces with the folk from Japanese animation studio Tatsunoko in a frenzied brawl as one of the only traditional fighting games on the platform. It's sold over 400,000 units worldwide so far.

Despite a solid fanbase, Svensson would be surprised to see a direct sequel on the Wii. He doesn't however rule out a sequel on other platforms, including the Wii's successor. Capcom do have a "very robust fighting game roadmap" for the coming years, but despite that anything can happen.

I have to be coy. You never know what's going to show up based upon our heritage and the strength of the community that's around our fighting franchises... Stay tuned is all I can say.

Are you a fan of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom? Would you like to see a sequel on the Wii, 3DS or other platform?

I still haven't decided whether to pick this up or not. It's relatively cheap, sitting at around €20 but I just can't seem to make up my mind. Smilie Does anybody around here own it and could share some experiences? Smilie

I finds it easy to play, but hard to master, I've had it since launch and it's really fun to play, in fact I went back to play it only a couple of weeks ago, you'll be very lucky to find someone online though, but I just unlocked everything for fun, it's a really well made fighter, I like it a lot better than Street Fighter.

Shame it didn't really sell that well though. I would like to see a sequel with more Tatsunoko characters (however unlikely that may be) and if it's on Nintendo's next console, it'll be even better.

And any anime fans who haven't watched Casshern Sins should, it's awesome.

I'm holding out for Nintendo vs Capcom. I don't CARE what Nintendo says when he pitched that he'd like to do something like that there was HUUUUUGR buzz about that for awhile.

That should be clear that there are PLENTY of people out there that want to see it happen. I'd like gameplay to be like Marvel vs Capcom 2 & a robust story mode like Brawl!!

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422

I'm quite happy with my original Japanese copy, but could use a more vast roster of characters. Would love to see a new one, but not on a handheld, so be it Wii or Project Café and I'd be quite happy.

It's a well made, fun game. As Stulaw mentioned..easy to pick up but hard to master.

Highly recommended if you like OTT fighting games. Think of it as Streetfighter on Steroids.

Though, what I would like to see is XMEN vs Streetfighter!
