Mario and Sonic are storming London for the 2012 Olympic Games, with tonnes of new events to take part in. New screens await!
The portable edition of Mario & Sonic at The London 2012 Olympics will be close in design to its bigger Wii brother, but revolve around smaller arenas and more specific challenges designed with portability and the 3DS hardware in mind. It's also a lot brighter, more colourful than the living-room version. SEGA recently unveiled four of these 3DS events - doing 1000m in a Kayak, rhythm stylus walking, breathing into the microphone to swim and button-based Judo fighting.

The Wii edition on the other hand finds Mario and his prickly chum riding horses, leaping through a gorgeous patchwork world in Dream Long jump and even hitting a tranquil lake in canoes. SEGA felt the adoption numbers for MotionPlus is still fairly low, so there won't be support for the extra layers of motion detection - just standard Wii remote waggles, swipes and jabs.
Even the ever-so-slightly creepy London 2012 mascots make an appearance as inflatable spectators on the sidelines.
